Property Sales More Than Double in 2013
This year has been the busiest in Naramata real estate since 2007.
Third quarter results are in, and 40 properties on the MLS system sold between January 1 and September 30. In the same period of 2012, 19 properties had sold on the MLS system.
Compared with other communities in the South Okanagan, Naramata has had a very busy real estate market. Figures below represent the first three quarters of 2013 compared to the same period of 2012.
Naramata: up 110.5%
Penticton: up 7%
Summerland: down 8%
Oliver: down 26.5%
Kaleden/OK Falls: up 18.5%
The MLS figures for Naramata sales includes: waterfront, townhomes, commercial, single family homes, building lots, acreages and vineyards. The Ellis Avenue townhomes represented by Team Bloomfield have had strong results in 2013, registering nine sales.
Value of all Naramata sales on the MLS system totaled $22.8-million up to the third quarter, compared with $10.3-million in the same period last year.
The average price per Naramata MLS sale for 2013 has been $570,252, versus $542,926 (first three quarters of 2012).
Meantime, Team Bloomfield continues its position as market share leader for Naramata. Between January 1and October 2, Team Bloomfield had a 40% market share. The next highest realtor was at 7%.
